About 2010 Guangzhou Asian Games

Guangzhou is the next destination for the Asian Games that will be held for the sixteenth time in the year 2010. The events will take place at Guangzhou in China from 12th to 27th November. After Beijing, Guangzhou is the second Chinese city to host the Asian Games.

To make it the prevalent Asian Games, there are 42 sports that are scheduled to be played during the course of the event. The emblem for the 2010 Guangzhou Asian Games is the stylized goat which according to Chinese tradition is considered to bless the people and bring good luck to them. The stylized goat is also the representative symbol for Guangzhou which is also popularly known as the City of Five Rams or the City of Goats.  

  

Numerous sports are included in the 16th Asian Games that will be held in the month of November in Guangzhou. Some of the popular ones include Golf, Rowing, Archery, Cricket, Equestrian, Cycling, Rugby, Volleyball, Weightlifting, Table Tennis, Fencing, Chess, Roller Sports, Softball and Wrestling. These are some of the sports while there is a along list of the other sports that will be played.  

The 16th Asian Games is making plans for using an all new sports Presentation System for promoting and cultivating the dynamic and energetic atmosphere for the fans as well as present the sports events by creatively making use of the information technology. 

There are volunteers for the 2010 Guangzhou Asian Games amongst 68% of the applicants are students. Besides volunteering, there is Asian Game Cheerleaders contest carried out for finding some of the best cheerleaders to enlighten the 2010 Guangzhou Asian Games. 

There are distinguished venues for the games that will be played by the participants during the course of the Asian Games. Out of these there are some that are renovated for the event.

The Mascot created with different colors which shows the culture and art each goat has been given with a different name i.e. “A Xiang”,” A He”, “A Ru”, “A Yi” and “Le Yangyang”. When combine all five of them forms a meaning of Peace, Harmony and Great Happiness, with everything. The goat has deeply concerned with Chinese art and traditional culture. Construction work of Guangzhou Asian Games still on process, Tianhe Gymnasium is the first one to be completed. The Spectacular venue of Zengcheng Dragon Boat Lake is on process for boat competition special seating arrangements on the bank of river is to be made.

The Organizing Chinese Olympic committee president and Minister of sport in China is Mr.Liu Peng. The 2010 Common Wealth Games is going to held in New Delhi this year which is the most anticipated games of all and this makes proud for any Indian.

The Common Wealth Games is a muti-sport event including various sports including elite athletes od different nations. It was known as the British Empire Games back in 1930, then it was changed to British Empire and Common Wealth in 1954, then in 1978 it was changed to British Commonwealth Games, then from 1978 it is known as the Commonwealth Games.

This event includes commonwealth games like Rugby Sevens and Netball. Currently there are 53 commonwealth nations and 71 nations participating. There are around 5,000 athletes in Commonwealth games which makes it the biggest event.

Delhi which has the population of 13.8 million people, which is going to host this event and it, will be the first time in history of India, and second time in the ASIA.

The dates which are proposed for the Games are 3-14 October 2010. The Delhi Games Village is being created especially for this event stretching about 40 acre lands and with the capacity for 8,500 athletes.

The stadium which is being constructed will host the following games which include: Aquatics, Athletics, Badminton, Bowls, Boxing, Cycling, EAD Events, Gymnastics, Hockey, Netballs, Rugby 7s, Shooting, Squash, Table Tennis and Weightlifting.

Indian economy will also be benefit from Commonwealth Games by generating Rs 1708 crore which is 88 crore more than the Govt expected. There will be Integrated Securities Systems will also be installed as the security measures.

This upcoming Event will be the biggest and will surely make India proud to host it. It is being also called as the “A Great Indian Wedding”
