KKR is one of the most exiting and talked team in IPL. The owner of this team is none other than Bollywood Star Shah Rukh Khan’s company Red Chilies Entertainment. It has the theme which is called as “Karbo Ladbo Jeetbo Re”. The team is lead by Sourav Ganguly, one of the most aggressive player in cricket.
It has the most attractive jersey which includes the color like purple and gold. This team was bided for $ 42.1 million.
In 2008 IPL season it had a flying start by having New Zealand Player Brendon McCullam in is team who scored the first ever highest score of 158 runs in its first match and is the record of the highest score in T20 format. But later on it started losing matches even having the top players like Sourav Ganguly, Chris Gayle and fast bowler Shoiab Aktar. They have the lowest losing score of 67 all out which is lowest score in IPL.
In 2009 season. KKR signed Sri Lankan spinner Ajanta Mendis and also Masrafe Mortaza. In the 2nd season KKR saw a very worst play of both the season by losing almost all the matches under the captaincy of Brendon McMcullam. It also saw some controversies between Coach John Buchanan and Sourav Ganguly and of having multiple captaincies and further went to more controversy of racial comments between coach and KKR players.
KKR were the first to select Cheerleaders through talent show called as Knights and Angels. Currently in the 3rd season there are no Pakistani players and some of the Australian players including Ricky Ponting.
