National Law University, Delhi (NLU Delhi) LLB Admission Process/Criteria

National Law University, Delhi laid its foundation in the year 2008 under Act 1 of 2008. The university is the first law university to be recognized in Delhi. The perspective of the educational institution is to make legal education as an instrument for a change in the political, economical and social change in the society. The university and the faculty is dedicated to prepare lawyers who will be technically sound, socially relevant and professionally competent, but will also have the quality to enter the competition and will also be prepared to address the authorization of the new world and advocate the rule of law.

The university has started its admission procedure for a 5 year degree program for B.A., LL.B. for the year 2010-2011 initiating from August 2010.

ELIGIBILITY

 A student applying must have passed Senior Secondary School Examination (10+2 system) or correspondent Examination with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate. Students appearing for the examination in March/April 2010 can also apply.

AGE LIMIT 

A candidate must be below the age of 21 years as on 1st July, 2010 in order to apply for the program (23 years in case of SC/ST candidates).

TOTAL SEATS 


Total=80 (eighty) 
70 seats are available on the basis of the merit through All India Entrance Examination. 
10 seats are for direct admission to foreign nationals on merit basis. Foreign nationals should secure more than 65% aggregate in the qualifying examination to be eligible for the program.

RESERVATION

Out of the total seats 15% seats are reserved for SC candidates, 3% for persons with disabilities and 7.5% for ST candidates. 

SCHOLARSHIPS

The University provides advanced financial aid for the needy and the deserving students.

Interested aspirants may apply for admission on the agreed format of application form obtainable on the universities website http://nludelhi.ac.in enclosed with a Demand draft of Rs.2, 000/- for general candidates, in case of SC, ST and person with disability Rs.500/- in the favor of “REGISTRAR, NATIONAL LAW UNIVERSITY, DELHI", payable at Delhi center including the copies of requisite Caste/PD certificate.
