Last Date for Receipt of Applications either by hand or by Post/Speed Post or by Courier : 11th April, 2011

Date of Examination : 9th July, 2011

Duration of Examination : 10 Days

How to Apply :

The application form along with an Information Brochure containing general instructions for filling up the form, an acknowledgement card and an envelope for sending the application will be obtainable from the designated Head Post Offices/Post Offices throughout the country against cash payment of Rs. 20/- (Rupees twenty only). Form should be purchased from the designated Head Post Offices/ Post Offices only and not from any other agency. This form can be used only once and for only one examination.

The centres and the date of holding the examination as mentioned above are liable to be changed at the discretion of the commission

LAST DATE OF RECEIPT OF APPLICATIONS:

(A) Online (From all candidates)
The Online Applications can be filled upto 18th April, 2011 till 11.59 PM after which the link will be disabled.

(B) Offline (From candidates residing in specified remote areas only) All Offline Applications from candidates residing in Remote Areas only specified in para 6 of this Notice must reach the “Controller of Examinations, Union Public Service Commission, Dholpur House, Shahjahan Road, New Delhi- 110069 by Post/Speed Post only by 25th April, 2011. Candidates should note that no application will be received by Hand or by Courier.

Union Public Service Commission (UPSC)
Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) was formed by the Constitution of India Government of India. The main aim of the Union Public Service Commission is to conduct examinations for appointment of officers for civil services. Firstly UPSC was set by British Indian Government in October 1926 for the demand of the demand of higher civil services which were a major demand for British Government to rule in different territories of India. The set up Public commission in done under the Federal Public Service Commission Act which was comes into use in 1935.

After getting the independence from British Government UPSC comes under the Indian Government. Indian Government changes certain things by Indian situation and whole system is set up as it is. Free to India January 26, 1950 the new constitution the Federal Public Service Commission with enforcement authority as an autonomous constitutional status and was named the Union Public Service Commission. The members of UPSC are chosen by the President of India. The members who are appointed necessary to have the at least ten years of experience either in Central or State civil service. The working period of the members are of six years or till completing 65 years of age (whichever is comes first).
Nearly 250 to 400 seats are recruited by UPSC exam every year. TO appearing UPSC examination candidate age must be between 21 and 30 years. Five years relations is provided for the candidates who are belongs from scheduled cast. The exam is of two parts; 1st is a Preliminary Examination which is a qualifying exam and questions ask in this exam is of objective type. And 2nd is main examination which has the two subparts, Written exam and personal interview. Candidate who clear the Preliminary Examinations are appear for the main examination.
