DEANS: Three Posts – Direct Recruitment or Deputation

NABI invites applications and nominations for the positions of Deans in the three departments. The Deans will be responsible for the development of Centres for knowledge creation and high learning at NABI.

(i) Dean, Department of Agricultural Biotechnology

(ii) Dean, Department of Food Biotechnology

(iii) Dean, Department of Nutritional Biotechnology.

Essential Qualification: (a) PhD in plant molecular biology, food science & technology, nutritional science, biochemical or bioprocess engineering or related subject area, as applicable to establish the above three Centres. (b) At least 15 years of experience at a high position in a research / teaching institute / university / industry with published research of highest standards and / or technologies of established utility. (c) Outstanding credentials in scientific, academic and technological achievements.

Desirable: Three years experience as Head of R&D in a reputed Academic or Research Institute or Industry in agriculture, food or nutrition as appropriate to the three Centres. Demonstrated ability to create new knowledge in the area of expertise or translate

DEANS: Three Posts – Direct Recruitment or Deputation innovations to develop new processes or products. Ability to network with national and global institutes and industries.

Age limit and tenure of appointment: The applicant should not exceed 55 years of age on the last date for the receipt of applications (viz. 30th April, 2011). (NOTE: Age limit for candidates desirous to apply on deputation on foreign service terms is 60 years). In exceptional cases, relaxation of age can be allowed at discretion of the competent authority. The appointment will be on contract basis for a period of five years or till the age of 60, whichever earlier. The tenure is extendable after review, as per rules of the organisation.

Salary & Allowances: All three positions of the Deans are in PB-4 in the basic scale `.37400–67000 plus Grade Pay `..12000 with allowances, perks and IP related benefits as per governmental norms. The positions can be filled by direct recruitment or on deputation, as per norms. Emoluments at minimum of the scale will be about `.93000/- per month.
