Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER Trivandrum)Ph.D. Admission, August 2011
Applications are invited from highly motivated students for admission to the Ph.D. programme beginning in August 2011 at the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research Thiruvananthapuram.
Candidates with Masters degree in Biological Sciences, Chemical Sciences, Mathematics, Statistics, Physical Sciences and related fields are eligible to apply. Individual schools will have additional eligibility criteria including qualifying in national level tests like CSIR-UGC-JRF, GATE, ICMR, JEST, NBHM etc. Please see the following URL

Relaxation of eligibility criteria for SC/ST candidates will be made according to the Government of India rules.
All students admitted to the Ph.D. programme receive fellowships either from national fellowships like CSIR-UGC-JRF/DBT-JRF/ICMR-JRF/NBHM or from IISERTVM.

About IISER Trivandrum
The instituted is administered by a Board of Governors with M R S Rao, President, Jawaharlal Nehru Centre for Advanced Scientific Research, Bangalore, as Chairman and Prof E D Jemmis as Director.
For admission to the MS programmes, students must have successfully completed the 10+2 course. Admissions are based on the ranks obtained in IIT-JEE and performance in KVPY.
The MS course is research oriented with a focus on basic sciences. The various components of the course are designed in such away that a graduate of the institute is motivated to take up science as a career. However the diverse skills gained from the institute will equip the students to pursue careers in any field including industry.
