About Cricket in Pakistan
Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is the member of ICC with both Test and One Day status. Pakistan is 1992 world cup champions and ICC under 19 Cricket World Cup Champions in 2004. Pakistan was the semi finalist for 3 times 2000, 2004 and 2009.
The Pakistan cricket has produced some of the world class all rounder’s such as Mustaq Mohammad, Imaran Khan, javed Miadadm, Wasim Akram, Shoiab Akhtar, Mohammed Yusuf.
The team I in 6th position in the ICC cricket Test Ranking and 4th in ODI champions. On August 28, 2006 Pakistan won its debut T20 international against England and was the Runner up in the inaugural ICC world T20 but lost against India in a Nail Biting match.
In 1992 World Cup the team won the Cup and stating its comeback after losing its player like Waqar Younis and Saeed Anwar. They won the Cup against England.
In 2007 Cricket Wolrd Cup, the team lost against the new comer Ireland, which was shocking for all the cricketing world.
The team also faced some of the controversies, and one of the major controversy was the death of their coach BOB Woolmer. Later it was investigated that it was not a sudden death but he was killed and the fingers were pointed to the Pakistni Players, as there were some differences against both.
When Inzamam-ul-Haq retired from the teams’ captains, young Shoib Malik was made the captian.
The team has some of the best players who can give momentum to the other player. Shoaib Akhtar one of the world’s Fastest Bowler was news for various bad reason. But he was not much in the team due to his Injuries which made him to rest most of the tournament.
Currently, some of the players including Mohammad Yousuf, Rana Naved-ul-Hasan, Shoiab Malik and younis Khan are being banned for indefinite period. The reason behind this is the teams’ integral quarrel and misunderstanding, which lead them to lose against Australia in Sydney.
